The 2021/22 season marked Kelty Hearts’ first ever campaign in Scottish League One, following their title win the year before. Far from just making up the numbers, Kelty impressed by finishing 4th in the table, securing a place in the promotion play offs in their debut season at this level. It was a hugely positive step forward, showing they could compete immediately against more established SPFL sides. Although promotion ultimately just eluded them via the play offs, the season firmly established Kelty Hearts as a serious force in the Scottish lower leagues.
